Dr Lubna Batool

Lubna Batool is a Lecturer in Political science at Rawalpindi Women University. Her research is focused on the history of governance systems of 19th and 20th century. She is the author of four research papers covering topics of the electoral process of local governments in Pakistan, issues related to Nation-state building in Pakistan, Engineering of the electoral system in terms of Globalization and the case of Pakistan. Few research papers are under consideration and she aims to engrave a national conscience into youth about initiating political and social reforms in Pakistan. She is currently writing a book about ‘Governing divided Societies with special reference to the political and social dilemma of Pakistan. Lubna received her Ph. d from International Islamic University, Islamabad where she studied as Higher Education Commission Ph. D scholar. Her research work remained focused on governance issues of Pakistan due to exclusion of ethnic and lingual based segments from its power structure and presented a paper in an international conference at Government College University, Lahore based on her research work. Meanwhile she worked as a research fellow in a HEC funded project ‘Business and Muslim World’ with Dr. Ijaz Shafi Gillani (Chairman Gallup, Pakistan) and with Iqbal Institute of Research and Dialogue, Islamabad as internee. She worked as Lecturer Political Science at University of Gujrat, Sub-Campus Rawalpindi (2017-2024) which was upgraded as an independent university as 'Rawalpindi Women University (RWU)' afterwards. Meanwhile she completed training session of one month with the National Faculty Development Program associated with Higher Education Commission, Islamabad in September 2021. She continued working in RWU on deputation and repatriated to UOG in 2024. Recently, she is working at UOG, Hafiz Hayat Campus as Lecturer.
Her research work during Ph.D remained focused on governance structure and other related issues due to incompatibilty inbetween society and the adopted governance structure. She also worked on electoral engineering in different democractic models. Her area of interest is federalism, ethnicities, comparative politics, electoral engineering for more inclusivness, state and society, European studies and Conflict Management.
