Pro-Vice Chancellor Office
IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE EVER GRACIOUS, THE MOST MERCIFUL
"It is out of Allah’s mercy that you have been lenient with them. Had you been rough, hard-hearted, they would surely have scattered away from you. So pardon them, and pray for their forgiveness, and take counsel from them in matters of importance. And when you are resolved on a course of action, place your trust in Allah; surely Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him). If Allah helps you none shall prevail over you; if He forsakes you then who can help you? It is in Allah that the believers should put their trust." (Quran 3:159-160)
Dearest Students, Faculty and Staff;
Let’s continue our journey towards exuberant future with esteemed spirits and incremented enthusiasm. I would like to carry on my former unfolded mission with few amendments, which are after all, demands of ever evolving digital era. This time government has bestowed the responsibilities of Pro- Vice Chancellor for further development of this institution to one of its’ pioneer family members. Accepting the challenge I would like to exert supremacy in capacity of the Pro-Vice Chancellor, University of Gujrat to benefit its students, faculty and staff members.
In a very short span of time, the university has achieved a marvelous success through reaching far flung and underserved areas of Gujranwala division. Looking objectively at its achievements, UOG has tremendously attained an all-inclusive and gender-balanced community. Majority of our students come from rural background and a greater volume of which comprises of females. Despite the fact that university is located in a district having heterogeneous socio-politico-economic structure, yet my colleagues have exerted tireless efforts over this complex system to neutralize all disparities.
Nonetheless, this is my firm belief that teamwork, prudence, self-discipline and devotion are vital constituents of the successful organizations. I am affirmative that each and every one of us will follow the stated principles to make this institution a world class university in true sense of letters. To make this strategic goal surmountable, I want equal participation from students to faculty, staff to directors and gardeners to the guardians. Academic discipline is the hallmark of any successful institution. Hence, the elements of change, any unfounded act of defamation against public servants and practices that disrupt social capital and trust will not be tolerated.
Most importantly, to my beloved students, I would say that future of any nation heavily depends upon the youth and their role in nation building and economic development. Thus, a conventional greeting would be too ritualistic because high bonding between administrators and students is mandatory to overcome impending challenges. My forthright message to all of you is that don’t let yourself be hypnotized by the grandiosity of this campus. Strive hard to cultivate in yourselves a truly scholastic attitude. Don’t let yourself be just swayed by the mystic infrastructure. These UOG facilities are at your services because you are the flag holders of the nation. Think beyond the obvious and read between the lines. Every evening, return home with knowledge and information. Don’t let your dreams just be dreams, don’t let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning (Kiyosaki, R.). Remember! Where other people face challenges, a scientist transforms them in opportunities. Success isn’t just about what you accomplish in your life; it's about what you inspire others to do. I agree with Babak that all progress takes place outside the comfort zone and there are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure (Powell, C.).
Wrapping up with the slogan that merit shall not be compromised at any cost and take home phrase of Albert Einstein “Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value."
