Dr. Muhammad Irfan earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology on September 1, 2023, specializing in Green Nanobiotechnology through a multidisciplinary research approach. His doctoral research, titled "Indigenous Plant Gum-Based Nanoparticles and Their Role in Pharmaceutics," focused on utilizing plant-derived polymers, specifically complex carbohydrates (resins/gums), for the eco-friendly synthesis of silver, gold, and zinc oxide nanoparticles (NPs) using green chemistry principles. His research involved extensive characterization and the evaluation of in-vitro and in-vivo applications of these NPs.

Dr. Irfan is an active researcher and has made significant contributions to scientific literature in his field. He has authored two books and published over 17 research articles in reputable international peer-reviewed journals, with 13 of these as the first and/or corresponding author (everage IF per article 4.37) reflecting the impact and quality of his scientific contributions.

His expertise extends to a broad range of nanomaterial characterization techniques, including UV-Visible spectroscopy, FTIR, DLS, Zeta potential analysis, XRD, EDX, TEM, and SEM. He has received certification from the University of Barcelona, Spain, for his proficiency in these advanced techniques. Additionally, he is skilled in analytical techniques such as GC-MS and LC-MS and is proficient in molecular biology techniques, including PCR, SDS-PAGE, restriction cloning, and various bioinformatics tools.

Dr. Irfan also possesses extensive experience in handling animal models (mouse model), cell culturing, and toxicity studies. Beyond his research and technical expertise, he has successfully organized national and international seminars and conferences, fostering collaborative networks and promoting advancements in biochemistry, biotechnology, and nanotechnology.

Previously, he has worked in the fields of enzyme Biotechnology, Nutritional biochemistry, hepatitis c epidemiology, cancer genetics, and RNAi.
