Lecturer Dr Isra Irshad

Dr Isra Irshad is a distinguished English lecturer at the Department of English, University of Gujrat. With over a decade of experience in teaching, she has established herself as a dedicated and passionate educator, renowned for her unwavering commitment to her students' success. Her teaching philosophy is centered around empowering her students to reach their full potential. She believes that education should be a transformative experience, one that not only imparts knowledge but also inspires critical thinking, creativity, and intellectual curiosity. She has done her PhD in English from UOG. She is also an accomplished researcher, with several publications in reputable academic journals. Her academic credentials are impressive, with a strong educational foundation in English literature, language and translation. Her expertise spans a range of areas, including ELT, translation studies, critical discourse analysis and gender studies.
My research Interests include Critical Discourse Analysis, Translation Studies, Gender Studies and ESP. My research goals include:
1) Promoting Social Justice: Using research to challenge dominant discourses and promote social justice, particularly in the areas of gender, language, and education.
2) Empowering Marginalized Voices: Amplifying the voices and perspectives of marginalized communities, including women, minority language speakers, and other underrepresented groups.
3) Informing Pedagogical Practices: Developing and evaluating ESP courses in various contexts
