I am Dr. Syed Hussain Irtqa Hussain, a scholar with a PhD in English Literature, specializing in South Asian and Postcolonial Literature. My research focuses on the intersections of power, identity, and resistance in literary works, particularly those reflecting colonial histories and postcolonial transformations. As an educator, I try to inspire students to critically engage with literature as a lens for understanding global histories and contemporary issues to explore the complexities of South Asian literary traditions and the enduring legacies of colonialism.
My research interests focus on South Asian literature in general and postcolonial literature in particular.
