Tashifa Amjid MS Antiarthritic activity of Trapa natans based silver nanoparticles against carrageenan induced model  Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic disease which is identified by inflammation of the synovium, the lining of the joints. This inflammation can cause joint damage, pain, and deformity. Globally, RA is one of the most common autoimmune diseases which are affecting approximately 1% of the population. Trapa natans, commonly known as water chestnut, is an important plant and has a long history of use. The purpose of this Trapa natans based silver nanoparticles study was to check the effect of anti-arthritic activity of Trapa natans fruit extract based silver nanoparticles in animal model. Research has been done on fruit extract of Trapa natans to make silver nanoparticles. 2024
Tamkeen Tahir MS Synthesis, characterization and antidiabetic evaluation of se-based Trapa natans peel nanoparticles  Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease that mostly occurs in people suffering from high blood glucose levels i.e., hyperglycaemia. Water chestnut (Trapa natans) is a plant with several medicinal properties; and it has been used frequently for treating inflammation, skin diseases, fever, sores, elephantiasis, and sunburns. Selenium (Se), an essential trace element, that exhibits remarkable antioxidant properties and plays a critical role in human health. Nanotechnology-based treatments can overcome the challenges associated with traditional therapies, as they have targeted drug delivery and biocompatibility. 2024
Zaira Qayyum MS EVALUATION OF THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS OF SELENIUM BASED WATER CHESTNUTS NANOPARTICLES AGAINST WOUND HEALING  Water chestnut (Trapa natans) is a plant widely known for its pharmaceutical applications. In this study, water chestnut fruit-based selenium nanoparticles were synthesized to evaluate the antioxidant potential of nanoparticles on wound-induced Swiss albino excision models. Nanotechnology-based treatments can overcome the complications associated with wound healing due to their unique qualities like targeted drug delivery and biocompatibility. The histology of the tissues from the healed wounds was examined, as well as biochemical tests. Water chestnut extract and 25, 50,100 mg/kg of SeNPs (WC-SCNPs) were given to wound excision models (N=40, n=8/groups) for 21 days, while the untreated normal (non-wounded) and diseased (wounded) groups received 10 ml/kg saline as a control. Using a Vernier caliper, wound contraction areas were measured following treatment at various day intervals. 2024
