Dr. Muhammad Irfan belongs to the Gujrat district of Punjab Province. He did his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Gujrat with research from the University of Barcelona, Spain. He did his M.Phil in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Gujrat and MSc in Biochemistry from the PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, Pak. Along with 10-year university teaching experience, he is a member of the Board of Studies and Board of Faculty. He is an active member of different departmental committees. He is also an active member American Society of Microbiology, USA.
Dr. Irfan completed his doctorate in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular biology in the research domain of
Nanopharmaceutics. He holds good expertise in nanotechnology-based analytical techniques e.g. UV-Vis., DLS,
Zeta potential, FTIR, TEM, XRD, etc. He has also a good command of molecular biology techniques like PCR, Gel
Electrophoresis, Southern bloating, primer designing, cell staining, SDS-PAGE, and bioinformatics tools. He has 15+ research publications (as a first and/or corresponding author) in high-impacted international peer-reviewed journals.
In 2022, he won the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) fellowship for a period of 6 months and
served as visiting researcher at the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Therapeutic Chemistry,
University of Barcelona, Spain. Previously, he has worked in the fields of enzyme Biotechnology, Nutritional biochemistry, hepatitis c epidemiology, cancer genetics, and RNAi.
