Abdul Hafeez is a textile designer, researcher, and educator with more than 13 years of experience in both academia and the industry. He has a strong focus on sustainable textiles, natural dyes, zero-waste techniques, and digital textile design. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Gujrat, where he emphasizes the integration of research, innovation, and sustainability in design education. Previously, he taught at the National Textile University, worked as a designer for international markets, and contributed to sculpture projects for both civil and military organizations. His research, which has been published in reputable journals, examines the connections between textiles, engineering, and organic chemistry. His contributions have gained international recognition, including a nomination for the Bilan 2016 du Prix Théophile Legrand award. Abdul Hafeez, a well-known textile researcher, educator, and designer is an asset to the industry with over 13 years of experience in both teaching and working. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the University of Gujrat, Faculty of Architecture, Design and Fine arts (FADFA), specializing in sustainable textile design, natural dyeing, and new technology in textiles. Zero waste design strategies, upcycling, and smart textiles are some of the other specialties that make him a vital player in furthering sustainable design in the textile sector.
Academic and Professional Background
Mr. Hafeez has an MS in Textile and Clothing from Government College University, Faisalabad. His research topic was Gamma Ray Assisted Extraction of Natural Dye from Ipomoea Indica and Its Application in 3D Textile Art. His Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design completed a professional circle in experimental textiles, materials development, as well as design innovation and a focus on the end user.
Before moving to University of Gujrat, he worked as a lecturer at National Textile University Faisalabad where he was actively engaged in academic activities such as curriculum designing and research in the areas of textile building, digital engineering, and product manufacturing. His professional background also includes a position as a Creative Designer at Sadaqat Limited, where he was actively involved in the R&D department for international export brands. He has also worked as a Freelance Interior Designer and Sculptor and has managed numerous 3D sculpture and design projects throughout the country.Research And Other Contributions And Activities
