Mr. Muhammad Mustansar Billah Hussain has been working as a Lecturer at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Gujrat since 2014. Before joining the University, Mr. Hussain has worked at Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), Islamabad; Foundation for Research on International Environment, National Development and Security (FRIENDS), Rawalpindi; Ministry of Defence; and a bilingual monthly ‘Overseas’. He earned his master’s in International Cooperation from Graduate School of International Studies, Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea. He also holds a master’s degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan. Mr. Hussain is a member of GlobalNet Platform, an initiative of the US Department of Defence. He is also an Alumni of North East South Asia (NESA) Centre for Strategic Studies which is the US DoD’s regional center focused on enhancing security cooperation. Mr. Hussain was a POSCO Asia Fellow during his studies in South Korea. He also had been a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), London; and member, Foundation for Research on International Environment, National Development and Security (FRIENDS), Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He also holds distinctions to be on the Dean’s List during his studies at Yonsei University, and representing Yonsei University in the Global Leadership Seminar organized by TUFTS University at Tufts European Center, Talloires, France. Professionally he had been to China as a FRIENDS delegate to Chinese Peoples’ Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD), and as an IPRI delegate to Chinese Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR). He had also attended NESA Center for Strategic Studies’ Annual Plenary and Working Group on ‘De-radicalization of Violent Extremists’ in Thailand, and NESA Centre for Strategic Studies’ Working Group Meeting on ‘Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Violent Extremists’ in Jordan. Mr. Hussain also has professional experience as editor. He co-edited a book titled, ‘Pakistan and the Changing Scenario – Regional and Global,’ published by Islamabad Policy Research Institute. He also served as Assistant Editor, ‘IPRI Journal’, and Assistant Editor ‘National Development and Security’ for several issues of the publications. During his stay at Yonsei University he was a member of the editorial team for the inaugural issue of Papers, Essays, and Reviews (PEAR), a research Journal of Graduate School of International Studies, Yonsei University. At UoG, in various stints he has also served as a member in: Board of Studies for the Department of Political Science and IR; Faculty Board of Social Sciences; and, Departmental Research and Review Committee. He has also been Departmental Sports Coordinator; Departmental Examinations Coordinator; and Social Science Faculty Sports Coordinator.
