The University of Gujrat (UoG) participated for the first time in the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Ranking and earned an exceptional global placement among the 251-300 ranked universities. A total of 1,267 universities worldwide took part in this ranking exercise, making UoG’s achievement highly competitive and noteworthy.

At the national level, UoG secured the 8th position in Pakistan, reflecting its rapid rise as a growing center of interdisciplinary research and innovation.

THE evaluated universities across three major dimensions: Input, Process, and Output, each addressing critical aspects of institutional support and research performance:

• Input: Interdisciplinary science research funding, industry funding

• Process: Measures of success, physical and research facilities, administrative support, promotion and tenure

• Output: Number of interdisciplinary publications, usability of research outside the discipline, research quality, and institutional reputation

The University of Gujrat received impressive scores across all three pillars:

• Input: 23.1

• Process: 33.5

• Output: 55.0

• Overall Score Range: 45.3 – 47.5

These results placed UoG confidently among the top 300 universities globally, a significant milestone for the institution.

This achievement is a testament to the collective dedication of UoG’s faculty, the strategic vision of its leadership, and the university’s commitment to strengthening its research ecosystem. Together, they continue to advance the University of Gujrat toward excellence in interdisciplinary science and global academic visibility.
