Faculty of Basic Sciences
The
Faculty of Basic Sciences at the University of Gujrat (UOG) is an
evolving one, and more disciplines will be added as we go along. Our
emphasis will be on offering courses that cater to the growing demand
for Pakistan’s industrial and economic development, as well as
establishing a competitive advantage in the highly globalised world.
Efforts will also be made to develop applied and inter-disciplinary
graduate and post graduates programmes that will prepare UOG graduates
for the immediate need of the job market, both at home and abroad.
Disciplines such as Bio Chemistry, Bio Technology, Genetics,
Horticulture, Landscaping and Metallurgy, just to name a few, shall be
introduced in due course of time. As a part of UOG’s academic vision,
all science students are required to do internships in the industry,
businesses, public or private sector organisations, etc. We also intend
to implement soon the HEC’s focussed MS programme, which will require
one year of study at the university campus and the second year in the
relevant industry or research organisation.
The Faculty of Basic Sciences has the following seven departments that
