The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has made a policy decision to direct all Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to establish Quality Enhancement Cells (QEC). It has also issued Guidelines for the establishment and monitoring of QECs.

As per directions of Higher Education Commission, the University of Gujrat has established Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC). The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) plays a key role in the development, monitoring and reporting of quality across the university and its academic programs. The QEC has a clearly defined mission, principles and terms of reference, defined by Higher Education Commission (HEC) which indicates the commitment of the university to continuous improvement.

Quality is an inherent and distinguished characteristic through which an institution can guarantee the maintenance and enhancement of its education. Quality is an ongoing process of building and sustaining relationships by assessing, anticipating, and implied needs. Educational standards are Enhanced and maintained through quality of education.

QEC ensure the highest quality learning, teaching, curricula, research and administration in the university through the development, implementation and continuous improvement of quality and to ensure that the highest quality systems and procedures to achieve these operate.

QEC is responsible to ensure that the university's quality assurance procedures are designed to fit in with the arrangements in place nationally for maintaining and improving the quality of higher education.
