Admission Policy

  1. GENERAL ADMISSION POLICY FOR ALL DEGREE PROGRAMS
    1. University of Gujrat (UOG) admissions shall be accomplished online against the advertisement in print and electronic mediafor Fall-2017Semester; however, the candidates shall have to submit a hard copy of the applied online admission form to the UOG Admission Cell, Alfarabi Block, and Room #07, Hafiz Hayat Campus, University of Gujrat, Pakistan by registered mail or in person.

 

  1. The University shall establish facilitation centers for the  guidance and application of the applicants for admissions at the following venues;

 

  1. Hafiz Hayat Campus

           Alfarabi Block, Lab-12 & Ibn e Khaldoon Block, Room # 211

  1. The Campus / Faculty wise number of seats for each program of undergraduate, graduate and PhD degrees arementioned below; however, minimum 25 registered students against BS/Master/Associate degree programs, minimum 10 registered students against a MS/MPhil and minimum 05 against a PhD degree program shall be required for commencement of respective Program.

        

  1. The reserve seat(s) mentioned in section (5) are included in the total number of seats, mentioned in sub section-1.3 of this policy.

 

  1. In specific circumstances University reserves the right not to offer any particular degree program(s).

 

  1. All offered degree programs shall run under semester system.

 

  1. Unless mentioned in admission advertisement, complete admission form(s) against open merit or reserve seats for all degree program(s) offered by the UOG Hafiz Hayat and UOG City Campuses Gujrat shall be received in the Admission Cell, Hafiz Hayat Campus, University of Gujrat by notified due date.

 

  1. The candidate can mark his/her preference for the admission for more than one degree programs within a Faculty; however, for other Faculty a separate admission form shall have to be submitted.

 

  1. Subject to the availability of seat / merit and prior submission of admission application form in more than one discipline(s), a candidate shall be allowed to change major discipline within stipulated time.

 

  1. In case of “O”, “A” level education or foreign certificate a Marks Equivalence Certificate (MEC) from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) shall be required.

 

  1. In case of any other relevant equivalent degree the Equivalence Certificate from HEC shall be required.

 

  1. In case of the calculation of %age from CGPA for other than UOG candidatesthe University shall follow HEC letter # 1-22 (NQAC) / QAD / 2017 / HEC / 03-360 dated March 24, 2017.

 

  1. As per Government of Punjab age relaxation Policy, the Competent Authority, UOGhas already relaxed the upper age limits of the applicants as per following detail.

  1. List of selected candidates shall be displayed on UOG website and departmental notice boards as per admission calendar.

 

  1. The selected candidates shall have to pay @ Rs 600/= (Six hundred) per admission application with Rs 250/= for each extra admission application through any branch of HBL at the time of application submission; Whereas,   all admission Fee/dues shall have to be paid within notified stipulated time; otherwise, the admission shall stand cancel.

 

  1. Subject to the minimum required number of students and departmental resources following programs shall be offered;

  1. UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS INCLUDING; BS/BBA/LLB/B-TEC/BSC-ENGINEERING AND ASSOCIATE DEGREES (AFTER 12 YEARS OF EDUCATION)

 

  1. Basic Criteria to apply for Undergraduate Degree Programs including; BS/BBA/LLB/B-Tec/BSc-Engineering, Bachelor and Associate Degrees (after 12 years of education);

 

  1. Subject to the verification by the Department concerned for relevance of subject, the provisional admission shall be awarded on the basis of first (1st) year examination of Intermediate or equivalent OR first two year result of DAE or equivalent. However, following minimum criteria shall be observed.  In this regard, the candidate shall have to submit an affidavit (already given in the online admission application form) confirming that he/she shall secure above mentioned respective minimum required marks (45%) in the 2nd year relevant examinations; otherwise, the provisional admission shall stand cancelled.

 

  1. At least 45% marks in the relevant Intermediate/DAE OR equivalent degree shall be required to apply for all undergraduate degree programs (BS/BBA/LLB/B-Tec and Associate degree).

 

  1. At least 60% marks in F.Sc (Pre-engineering/DAE OR equivalent) along with University of Engineering & Technology (UET), Lahore Entry Test shall be required to apply for the BSc Engineering degrees offered by Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

 

  1. Following criteria shall be observed for the degree programs offered by School of Art, Design and Architecture;

BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts)

  1.  
  • Intermediate or equivalent level with at least 45% marks (FA/FSc/I Com/ICS or equivalent).
  • After two semesters of Foundation Year the students shall be offered the Department of Fine Arts.

B-Design (Bachelor of Design)

  1.  
  • Intermediate or equivalent level with at least 45% marks (FA/FSc/ICom/ICS or equivalent).
  • After two semesters of Foundation Year the students shall be offered the Department of Design and after four semesters / two yearsstudent shall be offered specialization in Bachelor of Design on the basis of CGPA.

B-Arch (Bachelor of Architecture)

  1.  
  • FSc (Pre-Engineering), ICom / ICS or equivalent level with at least 50% marks.
  • Three years Diploma in Associate Engineering (DAE) in Architecture duly recognized by PBTE (Pakistan Board of Technical Education) holders may apply against 01 percent (1%) at least one seat, reserved seats in Bachelor of Architecture (B-Arch)
  • Departmental Test shall be required for admissions to B-Arch (Bachelor of Architecture).
  • (After two semesters of Foundation Year the students will be offered the Department of Architecture)

 

  1. Three years Diploma in Associate Engineering (DAE), duly recognized by Pakistan Board of Technical Education (PBTE) holders may apply against two percent (2%) reserved seats in relevant BSc-Engineering degrees.

 

  1. Intermediate (FSc Pre Medical & Prre Engineering or Science Group) / ICS/ three years Diploma in Associate Engineering (DAE) in Electrical / Electronics / IT / Computer Hardware / Tele-Communication duly recognized by Pakistan Board of Technical Education (PBTE) holders may apply for admission to BS-Computer Science, BS-Information Technology, BS-Software Engineering.

 

  1. Intermediate FA with Sociology, Psychology, Education, Economics, Statistics, Philosophy, FSc, I Com and IT may apply for Admission in BS-Psychology.

 

  1. Pre-Engineering / ICS with Mathematics 200marks shall be required for the admission to Mathematics, Physics.

 

  1. FSc (Pre-Engineering & Pre-Medical) or Science group with Statistics and ICS shall be required for the admission to BS-Statistics.
    1. Merit Determination Criteria for Undergraduate Degree Programs including; BS/BBA/LLB/B-Tec/BSc-Engineering, Bachelor and Associate Degrees (after 12 years of education)

 

  1. For all Undergraduate degree programs (BS//BBA/LLB/B-Tec/ Associate Degree except BSc-Engineering and Bachelor of Architecture (B-Arch); after 12 years of education the merit shall be determined as;

 

  1. Thirty percent (30%) weightage of obtained marks in Matriculation or equivalent.

 

  1. Seventy percent (70 %) weightage of obtained marks in Intermediate (first year)/ DAE (first two years) or equivalent.

 

  1. For BSc Engineering and B-Arch merit shall be determined as;

 

  1. Seventy percent (70 %) weightage of obtained marks in Intermediate or DAE (Diploma in Associate Engineering) or equivalent.

 

  1. Thirty percent (30 %) weightage of obtained marks in University of Engineering Technology (UET) Lahore Entry Test.

2.3)      Basic Criteria to Apply for Undergraduate Degree Programs including; MA/MSc/ MBA (3.5 years)/MCom (after 14 years of education);

 

  1. Subject to the verification by the Department concerned for relevance of the subjects in the terminal degree, the provisional admission shall be awarded on the basis of BA/BSc/B Com (third semester or third year results) or equivalent with at least 45% marks to apply for admission to all Undergraduate degree programs MA/MSc/ MBA (3.5 years) and MCom (after 14 years of education).  In this regard, the candidate shall have to submit an affidavit (already given in the online admission application form) confirming that he/she shall secure above mentioned respective minimum required marks (45%) in the final year / 4th Semester; otherwise, the provisional admission shall stand cancel.

 

  1. B-Com (IT) / Associate Degree in Accounting & Finance shall be required for admission to M Com (two years).

 

  1. Mathematics with 400 marks shall be required for admission to MSc Mathematics; whereas, 200 marks in the relevant subject in last degree shall be required for the admission to MA English,  MSc Economics and Psychology.

 

  1. Merit Determination Criteria for Undergraduate Degree Programs including; MA/MSc/ MBA (3.5 years)/M Com (after 14 years of education)

 

  1. For all Undergraduate degree programs (MA/MSc/ MBA (3.5 years)/M Com (after 14 years of education) the merit shall be determined as;

 

  1. Twentypercent (20%) weightage of obtained marks in Matriculation or equivalent.

 

  1. Twentypercent (20%) weightage of obtained marks in Intermediate or equivalent.

 

  1. Sixty percent (60%) weightage of obtained marks in BA/BSC or equivalent.

  1. BASIC CRITERIA TO APPLY FOR GRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS INCLUDING;MS/MPhil /MBA(1.5 YEARS) / LLM AND POST GRADUATE PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY  (AFTER 16 YEARS OF EDUCATION)

 

3.1)   Basic Criteria to Apply:

 

  1. Subject to the verification by the Department concerned for relevance of the subjects in the terminal degree, the provisional admission shall be awarded on the basis of final complete results of the last respective degree obtained.  However, following minimum criteria shall be observed.  

 

  1. MS/MPhil candidate shall possess at least sixteen years of education (MA/MSc/BS-4 Years Degree Program/BBA (Hons) /BE/BSc (Engineering) or its equivalent qualifications in the relevant subject.

 

  1. The candidate shall have at least50% marks in the annual examination system or 2.50 CGPA (out of 4.00 in the semester system) or 65% marks in the semester system examination, where CGPA not mentioned at terminal degree required for admission in MS/MPhil Program.

 

  1. Candidate shall have to earn at least cumulative 50% marks in the Graduate Program Subject Based Written Test (GPSBWT) conducted by ASRB and Interview conducted by the Department concerned.

 

  1. Any other requirement notified by HEC or UOG from time to time.

 

3.2) Merit Determination Criteria for Graduate Degree Programs including; MS/MPhil/MBA (1.5 Years) / LLM and Post Graduate Professional Diploma in Clinical Psychology (After 16 Years of Education)

  1. BASIC CRITERIA TO APPLY FOR POSTGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS; PhD (AFTER 18 YEARS OF EDUCATION)

 

4.1)    Basic Criteria to Apply for Postgraduate Degree Programs; PhD (after 18 years of education)

 

  1. Subject to the verification by the Department concerned for relevance of the subjects in the terminal degree, the provisional admission shall be awarded on of final complete results of the last respective degree obtained. However, following minimum criteria shall be observed. 

 

  1. PhD candidate shall have to possess at least 18 years of education (MS/MPhil degree) or equivalent qualification in the relevant subject.

 

  1. The candidate must have earned at least 06 credit hours research in his/her MS/MPhil program.

 

  1. The candidate shall also have at least 60% marks in the annual examination system or 3.00 CGPA (out of 4.00 in the semester system) or 70% in the semester system examination in terminal degree, where CGPA not mentioned.

 

  1. The candidate shall have to obtain 60% marks in the test conducted by ASRB and 10 Marks in the interview conducted by the Department concerned. 

 

  1. Any other requirement notified by HEC or UOG from time to time.

  1. ADMISSION POLICY FOR RESERVED SEATS IN VARIOUS DEGREE PROGRAMS

 

  1. The merit of the following offered reserve seats shall be determined within the category; however, the applicant has to fulfill the general admission eligibility criteria to apply for.

 

  1. Unless mentioned in admission advertisement, the complete admission form(s) against reserve seats along with all required documents (if any) shall be received in the Admission Cell, Hafiz Hayat Campus, Gujrat;

 

  1. Incomplete or late received admission forms shall not be entertained.

 

  1. In case any reserved seat is not filled, the same shall be treated toward open merit.

 

  1. Special Persons:
  1. Two percent (2%) seats; at least one seat, are reserved for special persons in all Degree Programs except BSc Engineering, Bachelor of Architecture and MBBS.

 

  1. The applicant shall have to produce a certificate, duly issued by the District Disable Assessment Committee, Government of Punjab.

 

  1. The candidate shall have to appear before the UOG Medical Board / Committee for Medical examination as per advertised schedule along with original credentials.

 

  1. Hard of Hearing shall not be considered as a disability.

 

  1. Sports:

 

  1. Two percent (2%) seat(s); at least one seat, are reserved for sports persons in all degree programs except BSc engineering, Bachelor of Architecture, MBBS and Graduate, Post Graduate degree programs.

 

  1. The applicant shall provide a registration certificate from Provincial/District Sports Board along with certificate(s) of participation at inter college / board level issued by the Education Department / concerned Board. 

 

  1. Final selection shall be made on the basis of trials for each category / event / kind of sports that shall be held as per advertised schedule and venue at UOG

 

  1. The University reserves the right to specify the category / event / kind of sports as per its policy.

 

  1. Co-curricular Activities
  1. One percent (1%) seat(s); at least one seat, are reserved for co-curricular activities in all Undergraduate Degree Programs except BSc engineering, Bachelor of Architecture, MBBS and Graduate, Post Graduate degree programs.

 

  1. The applicant shall have to provide a certificate in the co-curricular activities at inter college / board level issued by the Education Department / concerned Board.

 

  1. The final selection shall be made on auditions that shall be held as per advertised schedule and venue at UOG.

 

  1. The University reserves the right to specify the category / events / kind of Co-curricular activity as per its policy.

 

  1. Children/Spouse of UOG Employees:

 

  1. Two (2%) seats; at least one seat, are reserved for the children/spouse of UOG regular / long-term contractual employees (excluding staff on deputation) in all degree programs except MBBS.

 

  1. NADRA B-Form, UOG employment certificate issued by Registrar office shall be required along with admission application form.

 

  1. FATA:
  1. One (1%) seat; at least one seat, are reserved for the applicants of FATA in all degree programs except BSc engineering, Bachelor of Architecture, MBBS, Graduate and Post Graduate degree programs.

 

  1. The applicant shall produce nomination letter from the respective government.

 

  1. In case more than required (1%) nominations against a particular degree program are received, UOG shall reserve the rights to prepare the merit list.

 

  1. Balochistan:

 

  1. One (1%) seat; at least one seat, are reserved for the applicants of Balochistan in all degree programs except BSc engineering, Bachelor of Architecture, MBBS, Graduate and Post Graduate degree programs.

 

  1. The applicant shall produce nomination letter from the respective government.

 

  1. In case more than required (1%) nominations against a particular degree program are received, UOG shall reserve the rights to prepare the merit list.

 

  1. As per directives of the Chief Minster Punjab, the University of Gujrat has granted full fee waiver including Tuition Fee, Departmental Charges, Hostel fee or any other fee to the nominated students from Balochistan Province.

 

  1. Gilgit-Baltistan:

 

  1. One (1%)at least one seat for the nominees of Gilgit-Baltistan region in all Undergraduate Degree Programs except Engineering, Bachelor of Architecture and MBBS.

 

  1. The applicant shall produce nomination letter from the respective government.

 

  1. Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK):
    1. One (1%) at least one seat for the nominees of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) region in all Undergraduate Degree Programs offered by the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Social Sciences; except Bachelor of Architecture.

 

  1. The applicant shall produce nomination letter from the respective government.

 

 

 

 

  1. Afghanistan:
    1. One seat for the nominees of Afghanistan in all BS degree programs offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Department of Mass Communication and Media.

 

  1. The applicant shall produce nomination letter from the respective Embassy in Pakistan.

 

5.10) Wards of Shuhada, War Disabled Serving and Retired Individuals of Pakistan Armed Forces:

 

  1. One percent (1%) seat(s); at least one, are reserved for the wards of shuhada, war disabled, serving and retired individuals of Pak Army personnel in each undergraduate degree program except Engineering and MBBS.

 

  1. The applicants shall produce nomination letter from the GHQ.

 

5.11) Diploma Holder:

 

  1. Two percent (2%) seats are reserved for DAE (Diploma in Associate Engineering) holders duly recognized by Pakistan Board of Technical Education (PBTE) for admission to the relevant BSc-Engineering degree programs.

 

  1. Five percent (5%) seats in “Morning” and ten percent (10%) seats in “Evening” are reserved for three years Diploma in Associate Engineering (DAE) in Electrical / Electronics / IT / Computer Hardware / Tele-Communication duly recognized by Pakistan Board of Technical Education (PBTE) holders for admission to BS-Computer Science, BS-Information Technology, BS-Software degree programs.

 

  1. One percent (1%) at least one seat is reserved for three years Diploma in Associate Engineering (DAE) in Architecture duly recognized by Pakistan Board of Technical Education (PBTE) holders for admission to Bachelor of Architecture (B-Arch)
