The International Workshop on Resilient Computing Platforms and Technologies for Disaster Management (RESCUE-2017)
in conjunction with IEEE CPSCom-2017 Conference http://cse.stfx.ca/~CPSCom2017/
Exeter, England, UK, 21-23 June 2017
Special Session on
RESCUE: Resilient Computing Platforms and Technologies for Disaster Management
Sponsored by
IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, and IEEE Technical Committee of Scalable Computing (TCSC)
The 2017 IEEE International Conference on Cyber, Physical, and Social Computing (CPSCom-2017) will provide a high-profile, leading-edge forum for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to present state-of-art advances and innovations in theoretical foundations, systems, infrastructure, tools, testbeds, and applications for the CPSCom, as well as to identify emerging research topics and define the future.
IEEE CPSCom-2017 will be held on 21-23 June 2017 in Exeter, Devon, UK. The goal of this conference is to promote community-wide discussion identifying the Computational Intelligence technologies and theories for Cyber, Physical, and Social Computing. We seek submissions of papers which invent new techniques, introduce new methodologies, propose new research directions and discuss approaches for unsolved issues.
Due to climate change, fast urbanization and unsteady political situations, disasters occur more often than before. These natural and human disasters lead to serious financial losses and human deaths. To respond to disasters, various technologies such as space technology, existing 4G and emerging 5G mobile communications and intelligent ad hoc networks are used for rescuers to manage disasters.
Latest development in smart information, communication and networking technologies, such as 5G communication, Internet of Things (IoT) networking, cloud computing, wearable devices, and video streaming technology, and versatile applications on smartphones, makes the establishment of instant communication infrastructure possible and maintains a smooth communication system for disaster management. The aim of this special session, inline with The 10th IEEE International Conference on Cyber, Physical and Social Computing, is to provide a forum for the researchers, operators, and government administrators to share the latest technical development, good practice and experience learned from dealing with disasters.

Paper Submission Guideline
All papers need to be submitted electronically through the conference submission website ( http://cse.stfx.ca/~CPSCom2017/sub/ ) with PDF format. The materials presented in the papers should not be published or under submission elsewhere. Each paper is limited to 8 pages (or 10 pages with over length charge) including figures and references using IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style (two columns, single-spaced, 10 fonts). You can confirm the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Author Guidelines at the following web page:http://www.computer.org/web/cs-cps/
Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings can be found at:
https://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html
Once accepted, the paper will be included into the IEEE conference proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society Press (indexed by EI). At least one of the authors of any accepted paper is requested to register the paper at the conference.
