National Flag Hoisting Ceremony At UOG On 14TH August 2012
Independence Day Celebrations began with special prayers for Pakistan at the time of Fajar prayers at University mosque. Later on Prof Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat (UOG) hoisted the National and University flags at the Admin Block. As the fluttering national flag went higher the crowd of intellectuals started with one voice “Long Live Pakistan” Rose petals were strewn in the air. Col ® MusadaqHashmiled universityguards in saluting the national flag and along with the children singing the National Anthem. After hoisting flag ceremony in a short speech, the significance of the occasion and the importance of each individual in nation building was stressed. It was suggested that the universities must foster research, academics, cultural activities like seminars, debates to develop a healthy innovative and creative new generation, which are going to shoulder national responsibilities in the future. At the end of the Program Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed Bhatti led the prayers for the integrity, stability and progress of Pakistan.
