Vice Chancellor

A university is the highest institution of learning. It helps a nation produce leaders in the fields of industry and commerce, science and technology, and arts, as well as all other disciplines of life. A university thus has an enormous responsibility that can only be fulfilled by cultivating, nurturing and mentoring young minds, employing the best of available human and material resources.
These are indeed lofty ideas, but so are the dreams of all of us at the University of Gujrat. In fact, UOG is fast moving towards its dreams, helped by the continued support of the Punjab government on the one hand and the local people on the other. Its skyline, landscape and essential features have started to emerge from the green rice fields of Hafiz Hayat in Union Council Ikhlas Garh, like the proverbial Phoenix.
With the ultimate objective of imparting high quality education in the heart of Punjab, the University has set for itself high standards of scholarship. The responsibility for achieving this goal rests mainly with UOG’s administration that will have to ensure that the faculty and students have all the necessary facilities, a prerequisite for effective and uninterrupted learning. It is important to mention here that the entire campus has a round the clock free of cost wireless Internet connectivity.
Most importantly, UOG has a clear vision for the future, so come and visit its thriving campus to experience innovative learning! In short, the University strives at standing for high quality teaching, outstanding student support, and excellent personal and professional development. I personally look forward to having you with us to make this a reality.
Prof Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin
