Department of Multimedia

Each day without fail, I marvel at the creative energy and spirit of innovation that pulsate throughout the Department of Multimedia, School of Art and Design (SAD). The students of the Department of Multimedia are weaving a creative vision with technical mastery to transform artistic vision into professional expertise and rewarding futures. At the Department of Multimedia, we believe that the work will not be inspired until the students themselves are inspired. To be inspired is to love to process, to fully engage with it, because it is the journey that is remarkable, not just the destination. At the Department of Multimedia, we are committed to making that journey inspiring, rewarding, satisfying and fulfilling for all our students. This is our philosophy; and this is what makes the Department of Multimedia unique. Receiving a BS (Hons) degree from the Department of Multimedia means that you get a genuine insight into the subject: its power in any industry and its meaning for the contemporary society.

“Good design is intelligence made visible.” Le Corbusier

The Department of Multimedia is SAD’s response to the impact of digital media on the industry, and the ever-increasing demand for trained and talented people. If you enjoy combining creativity with cutting-edge technology, then you have come to the right place. Here your natural love for creative ideas and images can be refined into a rewarding career as an advertising art director, or as a designer in the publishing or digital worlds. With the introduction of cable television and the growth of new technologies, such as digital and high definition television, the television and film industry inPakistanhas experienced a phenomenal growth, and you can be part of it too.

“Imagination rules the world.” Napoleon Bonaparte

Digital technology offers designers a multitude of career paths. While many underling skills remain the same, their application changes with evolving technology; and designers find themselves exploring new and fascinating areas. At the Department of Multimedia, students are first given a basic understanding of the technical, theoretical and design elements of digital media. Next, they are introduced to the many options digital media offers to them. This way, they can start building on their strengths. By joining us, you will become part of a well-established film and television programme. The Department of Multimedia was the first tertiary institution in the Gujrat district to offer a course in film and television. Our graduates have been successful in the local, national and international industry. Our students also regularly produce programmes for broadcast on community channels in collaboration with UOG’s Mass Communication and Media students.
