Chief Minister's Message
Our
government, since its inception has been fully supportive to the cause
of higher education in the entire province of the Punjab. It was due to
the noticeable progress of the UOG, in a short span of time, that we
favourably considered the proposal of establishing there a medical
college.
I highly appreciate the hard work
put in by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nizamuddin, Vice-Chancellor, University of
Gujrat, and his dedicated team in establishing and successfully running
the University of Gujrat.
It also gives me immense
satisfaction to see that the Nawaz Sharif Medical College (NSMC) has
taken shape and its students have completed their second year
professional studies and are advancing towards graduation.
I congratulate all the passing
graduates, their parents, and the management and faculty of UOG on the
second convocation. We hope that the UOG graduates will maintain their
enthusiasm in sincerely applying the power of education
not only to enhance their
individual professional careers but also towards the progress and
development of the country. Only then, they will be able to pay back
part of the huge debt they owe to their community
alma mater.
Punjab
Government is putting in its best efforts and channelizing available
resources to transform the University of Gujrat into a state-of-the-art
institution of international repute that is equipped with latest
teaching techniques, training equipment and technology. In future also,
the provincial government will continue to extend its full support in
making this university one of the prestigious academic and research
institutions of the country.
I assure that the government will continue to support the UOG
wholeheartedly with regard to the additional infrastructure and staffing
needs of this fast growing university. I hope to see this dynamic
institution of higher education increasingly play its role in providing
visibility and professional advice for the social and intellectual
uplift of the people both at provincial level and for the entire
national at large.
